Have you ever been stuck in a moment, Looked inside and knew it was important? Through years of childish games you’d look my way, And I’d look right through you. But I knew the moment I felt that, Don’t remember much more when I look back. What do you feel inside? Ten more years to comply When did I stop being shy? And I like you…or something. I saw you the other day, I was nervous so I looked away. I knew that I was being stupid, Not my fault, I’ve been hit by Cupid. And I finally found my voice and step-by-step I made my way to you. Gaps close through ringing notes and late nights, when we just wouldn’t leave. You state your name and say “Hi”, Took no time to comply, We got lost that night, And I like you…or something. La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la. La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la. A light comes shining through, Every time I see you, Turns out every one knew, Could never hide the fact that I like you.

Enough 04:00
It’s a simple word that made me blush, It’s the worn out phrase that’s used all too much. It’s one step closer this time, It’s the worn down feeling of your hand leading mine, And I… I could live on the edge of my seat, Throw my things out into the street, Say my goodbyes and have nothing, But I’d never be searching, ‘Cause you’re enough. I bet you’ll take the fall for me, Run out the door and lose the key, And then you’ll start closing in, On all the places I’ve never been. And I… I could live on the edge of my seat, Throw my things out into the street, Say my goodbyes and have nothing, But I’d never be searching, ‘Cause you’re enough. And you could tell me I had everything, But I will always want you. I am prepared to leave it all behind, ‘Cause you’ll always be enough. You have got me living outside myself. You have brought me off of that dusty shelf, And if I lose it all, I’m not afraid to fall, ‘Cause you’re enough.

Timebomb 04:35
I have lived in a daydream, Always surrounded by people like me. Finding the perks of being almost gone, But I can only stay here for so long. Everyday it feels the same, Until I saw you sitting there and you asked for my name. I knew you would comprehend, We’ve lived the beginning and we’ve seen the end. So you will ask a question, And I’ll give you an answer, We’ll try to understand, we’ll try to understand, And I’ll give you a reason why we can’t be more than friends, Try to understand, I’m a time bomb ticking down to the end. They say it only works if the timing’s right, But it seems impossible to get the stars to align. We wish for the same things on them every night, So you’re gonna’ take me away and find out what the future could be… You will ask a question And I’ll give you an answer, We’ll try to understand, we’ll try to understand, And I’ll dismiss the reason why we can’t be more than friends, Try to understand, I’m a time bomb ticking down to the end. I want to see how it feels to be here, before I go, But there’s so much you have got to let know…Oh. Say it quick and tell me how, It’s spreading all through you now, It was always supposed to be me, So I’ll stay by your bedside as your bright blue eyes are fading to white. You still ask a question, And I give you an answer, I’ve learned to understand, but I’ll never understand. The days were numbered 1, 2, 3, But more than friends was infinity I’ll have to understand, You’re a time bomb ticking down to the end.

Goodbye 04:30
Take me to the beach to watch the stars, Let me memorize the feeling of your arms, You ask me if there’s anything I’d change, I wish we could be in the same place. You stay behind and watch until I’m gone, The years that go by quick can feel so long, The world I am returning to is blank, I wanna fill it in but I have to wait. Tell me why, I don’t why, I must always say… Goodbye, goodbye. I would like to find a way to be, Fine with what is happening to me, But I have seen the brightest colors this year, They always seem to fade, Then disappear. Tell me why, I don’t know why, You must always say… Goodbye, Goodbye. I feel like I’m from a different time, Watching you move on with your life, And I’m stuck here, Saying goodbye, Goodbye. Goodbye, goodbye. Tell me why, I just don’t wanna say goodbye.

about

Alyssa Baker is a singer-songwriter, music lover, and BIG dreamer. Her self-titled, debut EP, introduces audiences to this 16 year-old and her quirky, Indie-pop, folk-rock style. Released March 8, 2014, the four tracks together tell the story of a relationship, from beginning to end, in a way that is uniquely Alyssa. Her first single, "I Like You…or Something", released in January 2014, is an up-beat-off-beat love song showcasing Alyssa’s unique brand of awkwardness. The third track, “Timebomb”, was inspired by the John Green novel “The Fault in Out Stars,” soon to be released as a major motion picture. Produced and mixed by singer-songwriter-producer, Winston Hauschild, (Hey Ocean, Hanna Georgas, Bodhi Jones, etc.), Alyssa’s EP is the result of a true collaboration. According to Alyssa, “Winston gave my songs the push they needed, and he was able to capture, in the studio, the ‘Alyssa’ in all of them.”
